Our private client departments include personal injury, including catastrophic injuries (9%), clinical negligence (9.1%), trusts, probate and tax (12%), family (10%) and conveyancing (13%).

Who should apply?
Withy King seeks to recruit highly motivated and innovative individuals demonstrating good academic achievements, together with confidence, ambition and personality. Successful applicants will enjoy excellent career prospects. Many of the current partners trained with the firm and we are committed to seeing this trend continue.

Training programme
Our trainee solicitors are the future of the firm. Therefore, the recruitment of talented individuals with the necessary commitment and attitude are of paramount importance to us. In order for a trainee to fulfill his or her potential, significant investment is required from the firm during their period of training. Accordingly, we seek whenever possible, to retain our trainees on qualification.
Trainees will spend 6 months in four different seats, gaining experience of both contentious and non-contentions work. They work within partner-led teams, sharing in the work undertaken by the team.

Starting salary
Trainee solicitor starting salaries are reviewed in July of each year. The current starting salary for training contracts commencing in 2006 is £17,700 during the first year and £19,250 during the second year.
