Withy King strongly believes in supporting the communities within the regions it operates and does so in a number of ways. Like many organisations we face the daunting task of having to choose which charities and local projects to support among a constantly changing choice of worthy causes. Withy King have found that the most effective way of solving this difficult choice is to support the Community Foundations in our regions. We encourage all organisations seeking charitable support from Withy King to approach the relevant Community Foundation for more information about how we support regional charities and community projects.
Withy King chose to launch its own charitable fund with Quartet Community Foundation, which supports community projects in Bristol, Bath and Northeast Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire; and The Community Foundation for Wiltshire & Swindon which supports projects in Swindon and the County of Wiltshire. Both Foundations give grants to groups addressing priority needs in these communities and for whom a small amount of money can make a big difference. The Foundations also work closely with the local and regional branches of prominent national charities. We feel this is the best way to ensure that our charitable giving is linked to community projects where it can do the most good and make the biggest difference to people’s lives. Tim Odoire, Senior Partner, is a Trustee of The Community Foundation for Wiltshire & Swindon, which was awarded national recognition having been voted the Trustee Board of the Year by the 2006 National UK Charity Awards.
We encourage everyone at Withy King to take an active part in local charitable causes and many people offer their time and support for these and other local causes.
