Increased Rates of Hepatitis C
The Health Protection Agency has reported that the number of people with severe liver disease as a result of Hepatitis C is expected to grow by 50%, to 7,000 cases, by 2010. It also estimates that of the 200,000 people in Britain who have this infection, the majority are unaware of it.
