I contacted Withy King following the national publicity surrounding organ retention for advice on the circumstances and results of the post mortem performed on my son. There had been a gap of over 20 years between the death and the discovery that organs had been retained. This time gap made the case quite complicated, but I am very grateful for the advice and representation given by Withy King and the Nationwide Organ Retention Group. In my case, the result has been a change in the law which should ensure that organs are not retained without family consent in the future. At a very upsetting time for me I was treated with utmost respect. Mr Rumley spent a considerable time discussing the details of my case, the object of the Nationwide Organ Retention Group litigation, the possibilities of either winning or losing the case and the fact that it could be a lengthy process.
