Welcome to the Spinal Injuries Team at Withy King Solicitors.
Since joining us in February 2008 Richard Dawson and his Spinal Injuries team have secured multiple seven figure awards;
-
In April 2010 a 44 year old man was awarded £1.65 million, despite doubts as to whether he would win any compensation at all. In January 2006 he was driving a car over a junction, where he did not have right of way. A collision occurred between his car and a vehicle on the major road which was speeding. As a result of the accident he is paralysed from his chest down and needs constant care together with specialised equipment and adapted accommodation.
-
An 18 year old young man was the rear seat passenger in a car driven at high speed which overturned in November 2006. He is paralysed from his waist down and was awarded £1.8 million in June 2008. His award would have been higher if he had been wearing the seat belt provided.
-
A 40 year old incomplete tetraplegic who most surprisingly retained the ability to walk was awarded £800,000 together with annual payments in respect of his future care needs. This award was also reduced as the seat belt was not worn.
-
£2.125 million was awarded to a 25 year old paraplegic twelve months after her accident.
-
Agreed compensation of £875,000 was made to a 72 year old tetraplegic eleven months after Richard was instructed. This man was also a passenger in a car, but was not wearing the seat belt and as a result now has a considerably reduced life expectancy.
These claims illustrate how a specialist solicitor can help clients to win very substantial compensation without having to wait years. Although no amount of money can ever fully compensate for losses sustained by life changing injuries, significant damages can ensure a future that is as comfortable and secure as possible and the process of rebuilding lives can be started without the additional burden of financial worries.
