2011 was another busy year for the Employment team at Withy King!
Over the last 12 months, as well as advising our new and existing clients on all of their employment queries we were out and about delivering presentations on hot topics including the Agency Workers Regulations and general legal updates to local businesses and HR professionals.
While last year kept businesses and HR professionals on their toes adjusting to working with the new Equality Act, the abolishment of the default retirement age and new legislation involving agency workers, 2012 is looking to be even more demanding as the pace of change speeds up.
In the attached guidance note we review what happened in 2011 and outline some of the most important changes due in 2012 with some information pointers that you should be looking out for over the next 12 months.
Last, but certainly not least, our team grew last year with the appointment of a new Partner and part-time Employment Judge Mark Emery based in our Oxford office. Mark has come to us from London with several years experience in such matters as dismissal & discrimination and advocating cases at tribunal.
