Andrew is Head of the Racing and Bloodstock team. He qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and in 1999, he established the niche bloodstock practice, Chalk Smith Brooks, together with Mary Leslie-Smith and Richard Brooks. All three Partners joined Withy King in 2004.
He specialises in two main areas of work, the first being sports law and disciplinary hearings, with bloodstock issues forming a core area of his practice. Andrew also deals with equestrian property transactions, and other non-contentious sports law work, including commercial contracts and multiple ownership agreements, whether by partnerships or racing clubs.
Andrew’s second specialist area is commercial property work, where he offers advice across the spectrum of property issues. He acts in the acquisition and sale of premises and advises both landlords and tenants.
Andrew divides his time between the firm's Marlborough and Oxford offices.
