Kerstin Scheel joined Withy King in January 2009 and works from the Firm’s Bath Northumberland Buildings office. She read law at the University of the West of England before qualifying as a solicitor in 2004.

 

Kerstin works on a wide case load including complex and high value claims and has a specialist interest in obstetric, gynaecological and fertility cases, in particular birth injury and cerebral palsy, wrongful birth and Erb's Palsy. She has extensive experience in cases involving paediatric orthopaedic injuries, including upper limb amputations and failure to diagnose congenital dislocation of the hip (CDH). Kerstin also has an interest in cases involving general surgery, cardiology and delays in diagnosis of cancer. 

In addition she represents families at numerous inquest hearings over the south west of England and Wales and handles any resulting claims for compensation which may follow. She is a member of the specialist Lawyer’s Group of the charity INQUEST, contributing regularly to their Quarterly Journal and a founder member of the Bristol Wrongful Death Helpline Lawyers Group.
