David qualified as a solicitor in 1973. Since 1999 he has been partner in charge of Withy King's Wills, trusts and tax department. Before that, he held a a similar role from 1976 to 1999 in Bristol firm, Wansbroughs (now Beachcroft Wansbroughs).
He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and is a founder-member of Bristol Law Society's Tax, trusts and probate committee, of which he is also a past chairman.
David has specialised in succession law for most of his professional life, and now has a particular interest in tax as it applies to succession, and in the effect of succession on commercial structures.
