Simon heads the Clinical Negligence team, which specialises in claims for patients injured during the course of their medical or dental care.
His particular areas of expertise are birth injury and cerebral palsy claims, cases of delayed diagnosis of cancer, fatal claims and dental negligence cases. He also deals with a wide variety of other clinical negligence matters.
Simon is a member of the Law Society's specialist Clinical Negligence Panel, the Referral Panel of Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA), and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). He has had articles published in several medico-legal journals, including Clinical Risk, Medical Litigation, Healthcare Risk Report and the New Law Journal.
He is the author of the Clinical Negligence chapter in Sweet & Maxwell's Personal Injury Claims Manual, and is a member of the Law Society's Clinical Negligence Reference Group. He qualified as a lawyer in 1992, becoming a Partner at Withy King in 2000.
