Gift Aid: The charitable donation that keeps on giving

Overview

Our specialists in the Charities team offer a broad range of services for charities and other organisations within the wider not-for-profit sector. Our clients include charities, Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), local authorities, public sector bodies, care villages and schools.

A number of the team are actively involved in charity work at trustee and board level.

We offer a full service of legal advice to our charity clients depending on their individual needs. This includes business start-ups, commercial ventures for charities, advice on all property matters and a full range of advice to charity trustees. We have a wealth of practical experience at local, regional and national level, ranging from small charities to top 300 charity members.

As part of our services to independent schools, we are expert at guiding schools through the fast-moving area of employment law. We also provide prompt and practical advice on pupil discipline, child protection and parental disputes and assist with a variety of property and commercial agreements as well as  intellectual property rights.  We also assist with fee recovery. We enjoy a good working relationship with the Independent Schools' Bursars Association (ISBA).

Our charity and education clients are able to benefit from our team approach across a range of disciplines, pulling in other specialists as required. This includes working closely with our employment, property, corporate and private client teams - to guarantee specialist advice at all times.
