Rebecca Stevens
Solicitor-Advocate
Rebecca is renowned for her endless energy, drive and enthusiasm in dealing with her clients. She has gained her higher rights of audience which means she is able to conduct her own advocacy in the High Court.
“Court proceedings, whether for the breakdown of a relationship, contact issues or care proceedings are incredibly stressful. I understand that at these crucial times in a person’s life having clear, straight forward advice is essential. Straight talking is my speciality – as is breaking down complicated legal terms.”
Rebecca is a regular contributor to local and legal press and has been published in Family Law Week. She was one of a select group of family law thought leaders chosen by the NSPCC to participate in discussions regarding the Government’s proposed changes to family law. Originally from Lancashire, Rebecca manages to combine a busy career with married life as a working mother. Her life experience enables her to approach family disputes in a practical way so that clients achieve the best result quickly and cost effectively.
Rebecca undertakes a broad range of family work including:
- Divorce and financial settlements following the breakdown of a relationship
- Family disputes relating to children including contact, residence, DNA testing and removal from the country
- Cohabitation disputes, including ownership of shared property outside of marriage
- Child protection issues, particularly representing parents where the Local Authority has applied to place their child in care.
Rebecca trained and qualified at Withy King and has already established herself as a highly committed young solicitor. She has impressed her clients and peers alike and has been awarded the title of ‘Young Lawyer of the Year’ by Bristol Law Society in 2009 and Wiltshire Business Person of the Year 2010.
