Tracey Furminger

Solicitor

Tracey is a solicitor specialising solely in clinical negligence law who deals with claims for patients who have been injured in the course of their medical or dental treatment. She trained at Withy King and since qualifying has dealt with a wide range of claims of varying nature and complexity.

”I have known for a long time that I wanted to specialise in clinical negligence law. Before qualifying as a solicitor at Withy King, I worked as a paralegal in another firm, dealing with claims for accident victims who sustained brain and spinal cord injuries. I have seen how compensation helps people change their life around after very sad and stressful events, and that experience certainly reinforced my decision to specialise in clinical negligence law.”

Tracey undertakes a wide range of cases and has a particular interest in:

  • cases involving GP negligence,
  • hearing disorders,
  • keyhole surgery,
  • retained surgical equipment, and
  • nursing care.

Tracey also assists other members of the team on complex cases involving injuries of maximum severity, primarily birth injury and cerebral palsy claims and fatal accident claims.

“Clinical negligence law is complex and technical, but also fascinating. And it is not just about the law; in fact, the way I see it is really about the people. Working closely with my clients, understanding their needs and their concerns, and ultimately getting them the outcome they want is a truly rewarding experience.”
