Yolande Wase

Solicitor

It is the mix of medicine and the law involved in Clinical Negligence work, sitting as it does where the two disciplines meet, that Yolande finds fascinating.  However, the emotionally rewarding nature of the work counts for just as much:#

“The role I play in gathering evidence to prove that an injury shouldn’t have occurred, and obtaining the compensation needed to help a client rebuild their life, is immensely rewarding.  It’s about as far from a dry application of the law as you can get.”

Yolande understands that cases of this nature can prove challenging for the client and how crucial it is that their solicitor provides comprehensive advice and reassurance as the claim progresses, setting out where the claim is in the legal process, and why.  Yolande’s experience of doing this has been largely rooted in the following types of claim:

  • birth injuries, including cerebral palsy and Erb’s palsy
  • wrongful birth
  • spinal Injuries
  • psychiatric suicide.

Yolande is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients and knows that selecting the right team for a case is vital to its success.  Her extensive experience in the above fields means she has an array of tried and tested medical experts and barristers to call upon.

Yolande trained at a niche Clinical Negligence firm in London, qualifying in 2004, before working for several years for a large national firm. In the legal field, Yolande has specialised solely in Clinical Negligence.

Outside of law, Yolande has worked as Clinical Governance Manager for an NHS Trust; a role which saw her managing investigations into clinical and nursing incidents and implementing systems designed to improve patient safety.

Yolande works out of the firm’s Oxford and London offices.
